May

Working as a part time teacher out here has made me realize how thankful I am that I did not decide to further my education in becoming a teacher! I don't know what I would have done if I had a class with kids who had learning disabilities (pull my hair out?). I teach two kids (who are brothers) and Lawd knows how He's testing my patience with these two young'ens. The younger has given me the most grief in the beginning, but now I see a breakthrough. He's a quick learner and seems to be retaining the materials I'm teaching him. He's actually becoming my lil favorite. "PO" is his name, no not "Paul" but "Po." I call him "Po Po" instead.

This past Monday the ladies decided to have a "Girls Night." The brothers were gray cious enough to substitute our classes so that we can attend the Hillsong Concert held at our Gathering (BICF). If you've never seen Hillsongs Live, it's pretty amazing stuff (Chris Tomlin is still the best though). I would highly recommend it if you want to hear some live worth ship songs.

Patiently awaiting for the worth ship to commence:

I found another language exchange partner. She is wanTing to study and lEarn about the Boss and the Manual. I wiLL be meeting with her on WednesdAy afternoons, where I'll help her with her Business English and Manual study in exchange for some Chinese. I'm more than excited to meet with her to go over the important materials, and I'm most thankful that the Boss has given me a friend and now a Seoul to shepherd. Please think of her, and more than anything, I would love to see her come to intimately know our loving Boss. READ BOLDly

WOW! Jokes on us!

I guess I got humbled.
Lesson Learned... don't boast. hahahah

uhhh... next year! next year!

Bu Yao!

Yeehaw...

I'm starting to get the hang of it out here. I thought by coming out here I'd advance my Chinese, but for the past two weeks or so, I've been improving my Korean! I started teaching at the academy. My kids only speak Korean so I'm having to do this dual bilingual teaching method, where I'm having to translate the English to Korean. "Boo jer dow laoh sher!" I'm teaching two kids phonics from 4:30 to 6:00 and then from 6-7pm I'm teaching "story book." This is my "tent-making" time m-fri.

So far, I've visited the two universities where the weekly English Corner outings take place. Last week, I had the opportunity to meet a person and we talked 1-2-1. Hopefully, she'll want to be my friend. I have no friends. hahahaha... a request I have been lifting up. Sad.

We're going to go mad crazy advertising for our summer intensive English camp at our English Corners this week. Be IMPACTED this Summer! Beijing 2007! Learn English and make an IMPACT!

PTL, I have overcome the mysterious cold. Word has it that EVERYONE who comes to live here cannot avoid this illness. Symptoms: runny nose, sore throat, cough, phlem. [sigh] Pollution!

This is where I meet every Sunday for Gathering: BICF

7 is the number of Completion

Welcome to the home of the 2008 Olympic Summer Games! There's a lot of construction taking place in preparation for next year's games. I can see the progress of the dudes here building the stadium. It's pretty intense.

It's been about 4 days, but for some reason feels like I've been here for about a month. Started to get myself situated...I've been cooking almost everyday. This is where I go grocery shopping

Not all places are modernly built, booo... don't fall in!

Anyhow, it's been so great reuniting with the 6 over here. We've been traveling around looking for a site to host for the summer team. I'm going to be lonely for the next week since the fantastic four is leaving for urumoochee to reunite with some ol' dawgs. Think about them, please... to make the most of every opportunity.

Peace!
